Our Beliefs
What the Church of God and Saints of Christ believe and why
Every Christian Israelite should be able to give reason for his faith that he holds to know why he believes and upon what grounds (St. John 8: 31-32).
The Church of God and Saints of Christ is founded upon the Apostles and Prophets, Jesus Christ being theChief Cornerstone (scripture). Founded in 1896 by Prophet William S. Crowdy according to I (Corinthians 1:1-2).
We believe in the Almighty God, who is the Supreme Being. The prime mover of all motions, the prime knower of all things known. The prime doer of all things done. The judge and rewarder (Deut. 32: 36-43).
Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God (St. John 3:16), the sinless Lamb of God which takes away the sins of the world,
The bible is a full and sufficient guide for Christian living (II Peter 1: 20-21; II Timothy 3:16).
Prayer is the means through which we make solemn petition to God for the things desired (I Timothy).
The Seventh Day Sabbath, commonly known as Saturday, is to be observed as commanded by God even in this age. It is a covenant between God and his people forever ( Exodus 20: 8-11, Hebrews 4:4-8, Ezekiel 20:20).
Bread and water to be taken as the Holy Communion for Christ’s body and blood, showing forth Jesus’ death and suffering ( St. Matthew 26:26-28).
Whole armour footwashing is a part of necessary invitation for acceptance into the Church of God, the body of Christ ( St. John 13: 117, Ephesians 6: 10-18).
Baptism by immersion in water demonstrating the burial of the old life of sin and rebirth into a new spiritual life of righteousness (Galatians 3: 26, II John 3:5, Romans 6:6-8), and blessing rather than baptizing children (St. Matthew 19:13-15, Numbers 6:22-27).
The Ten Commandments are the Moral Laws of God and are to be observed by God’s people even in this age (St. Matthew 5:17-19, I John 2:4, Kings 17:37, Revelation 22:14).
