How to grow your faith (Part I)

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1).
Faith is the ability to believe without doubting. The Scriptures say that if we doubt, we cannot receive anything from the Lord, for a double minded man is unstable in all his ways (James 1:5-8). Doubt tells us things are too impossible to happen, whereas faith says all things are possible through God if we believe. It is no wonder doubt and faith cannot co-exist. “Fear” Bishop JR Grant preached, “is the enermy of faith”. The presence of fear and doubt disqualifies faith. So also is faith. Its presence drives fear and doubt.
Believe in the Lord your God so shall ye be established, believe his prophets so shall ye prosper (II Chronicles 20:20). If we want to receive anything from the Lord, we must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him (Hebrews 11:6).
We must first believe that God is able. Believe that our impossibilities are His possibilities. Believe that our challenges are His opportunities to be glorified, because nothing shall be impossible with God, for “all things are possible to him that believeth” (St. Mark 9:23). But for that to be our experience and testimony, we must first believe, believe his word and believe him for ourselves.
For with God nothing shall be impossible (Luke 1:37).
