Passover vs Easter
Posted by admin1 under: Announcements .
Observe the month of Abib, and keep the passover unto the Lord thy God: for in the month of Abib the Lord thy God brought thee forth out of Egypt by night (Deuteronomy 61:1).
The Passover and Easter are drawing nigh. And many a times there is confusion that these are the same. There is a belief that Easter is simply the New Testament Passover. Also there is another believe that Jesus came to replace the Passover with Communion.
Studying the Bible and learning from dictionaries, encyclopedias and some historical data, there is evidence that Easter was celebrated long before the birth and death of Jesus Christ.
We have added in Holidays more information on Passover and Easter: http://www.cogsoc.org/holidays-2/passover-vs-easter/
And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer: (St. Luke 22:15).
