A New Beginning

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new (II Corinthians 5:17).

Have you noticed, how change of season somehow compels us to seek changes in our lives? The question is, how can we make our spiritual lives better in this New Year? Apostle Paul says that true repentance, is the one we do not change from (II Corinthians 7:10).

True change and everlasting repentance involve change of mind.  That means acquiring new desires (new heart) and new attitude (new spirit)  (Ezekiel 18:31).  As we take inventory, let us invite God to inspect and search those parts of our lives which are hidden from us, and those which are harder for us to change by ourselves. Like the prodigal son, we need to come to ourselves and see the areas where we have moved from God (St. Luke 15:17).

Meditation: Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting (Psalms 139:23-24).

  1. Looking at the beginning I think of the message the angel told John on Patmos, do thy first work or else I will remove the candlestick.
This New Year reminds us of the beginning and how we can have a beginning at the same time God created the heavens and the earth. This month ABIB is truly our birthday!! And God said let us make man.
We can take this new season and renw ourselves withe the spirit of God and become a new spirit. It is important that we do our first work.
Let us all go back to the old landmark and stay in the service of the Lord. Amen
