O’ Give thanks unto the Lord!

“In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” I Thessalonians 5:18
Life sometimes seems so hard, and our trials seem to have no end. While this may be real to what we are going through and what we are facing, shifting our focus to the goodness and mercies of the Lord can change a situation around. Paul and Silas whilst in prison started praising, and the gates were opened. Jesus whilst praying gave thanks to God before Lazarus was raised from the dead. Daniel continued to pray and to give thanks to God even though getting caught would cost him his life. In all things give thanks (Ephasians 5:20), for his mercies endureth forever (Psalms 136:1).
David says in Psalms 34:1“I will bless the Lord at all times, His praise shall continually be in my mouth.” In good and bad times, the Lord’s name is to be praised (Psalms 113:3).
When we take time, and start to think of what the Lord has done for us during our hard times and good times, we have to stop and give Him thanks for our deliverance and truimphs. And when we remember the goodness of the Lord, for overcoming our enemies, fighting our battles, we have to proclaim and give thanks for his benefits. In all situations, give thanks. Give thanks for His mercies enduretht forever (Psalms 136:1).
Meditation: “What shall I render unto the Lord for all his benefits towards me?” (Psalms 116:12).
